The Pride of The Ship

Freddy Sez:

Coming off a rough week, The Ship was looking to take advantage of a return to its home bar. With a workmanlike performance and a concentration on sound fundamentals, the squad would turn in a solid performance. (Click to continue...)

Swatted

Freddy Sez:

To try to capture The Ship with a mere update would be like trying to keep up with The Ship on a night out. It simply cannot be done. Yet, as always, I will once again take on this Ruthian task, for your enjoyment. (Click to continue...)

Better Make It Four. I Don't Think I Can Eat Eight.

Freddy Sez:

OK folks, let's pair up in threes, and when you see a fork in the road, take it. Remember that you can't think and hit bulls at the same time, but you can observe a lot just by watching. And thanks to The Ship for making this day necessary. (Click to continue...)

Seven Costanza

Freddy Sez:

Seven? Yeah, I guess I could see it. Seven. Seven periods of school, seven beatings a day. Roughly seven stitches a beating, and eventually seven years to life. Yes, seven has a long and storied history with the Yankees, but it was not lucky number seven for The Ship this week. (Click to continue...)

Sweet

Freddy Sez:

To play baseball, there is no place like "The Cathedral in the Bronx," and similarly "dart alley" at Stout is a shrine for darts. The safety of this sanctuary allowed The Ship to exorcise their demons and emerge from dart-purgatory. (Click to continue...)

Turn Two

Freddy Sez:

The number "2" is important in Yankee history, as the sure-to-be-retired number of the Captain, Derek Jeter. As of right now, the Yankees are 2-2, and there are two Yankee Stadiums sitting side-by-side in the Bronx. Unfortunately for The Ship in week two of season two of "B" division, "2" did not hold the same prestige this week.

BYE Bye

Freddy Sez:

We kick off the season with a Bye, just as we begin to say "bye" to Yankee Stadium (and hello to a new stadium, courtesy of our friends at Turner Construction).

For The Ship, it is time to shake off the rust and get back in the swing of things.

Come Next Monday

Season Notes:

For our first foray into Division B, the Fall 2007 regular season was an impressive one for The Ship. We finished the season tied for 6th place in the division and we outright won two weeks, proving we can compete at this level. Once again, we topped our highest team All-Star point total, with a grand total of 13,999. Plus, we had the Men's Division B singles champion. (Click to continue...)

Well It Sure Is Monday Isn’t It Now

Well, color The Ship happy, because this week we played at Bailey's, and there's a sofa for two there, along with a bowling game and bar video games. Of course, some dart dreams come true, and some don't. This week ours didn't, but at least, in case I forget to tell you later, The Ship had a really good time on Monday night. Home on a Monday

Can you guess where I'm writing from? Well, it's not the Las Vegas Hilton, unfortunately, and I'm not spinning The Wheel. This week was over the top, as we were playing to win and looking to make lonesome losers of the top ranked team. So quiet down, drop the bullhorn and use your "inside voice" as you read along with this week's update. (Click to continue...)

And the Truth is Just Beginning

Here's Monday, and here comes The Ship. Slowly but surely, it looks like we are emerging from our hive and taking control if this "B" thing. We came this far without once hurting others, but now we've changed our minds and we are stinging like a bee. (Click to continue...)
